Some of Apple’s devices can be charged wirelessly with a Qi compatible charging mat. It’s really convenient and got me thinking – can you charge the Apple Watch wirelessly?

You cannot charge Apple Watch wirelessly

Apple Watch series 1-8 (including Apple Watch Ultra) all require an USB to Apple Watch cable to charge.

We’re hoping (and sort of expecting) Apple Watch series 9 to include wireless charging just like the late model iPhones and AirPods.

Many people were surprised that the Series 8 Apple Watch didn’t have wireless charging. Being able to take off your watch and lay it on a Qi-charging mat would be super convenient.

What’s The Best Way To Charge Apple Watch Wirelessly?

So the closest to being able to charge your Apple Watch wirelessly is this 3-in-1 charger.

3-in-1 Fast Charger (Amazon)

It still uses the original Apple Watch charging method, but has a really compact design. You can just lay your Apple Watch over the charger end and it’ll recharge. It’s probably the best solution to hassle-free charging.

Here’s what it looks like without the Apple devices on it.

You won’t be able to just lay your watch anywhere, the back circle still has to line up with the charger circle, but it’s not a bad solution until Apple adds true Qi-Mat charging to it’s Apple Watch. Watch this space?
